The Journey

It was raining lightly that morning when I left for Singapore Botanical Gardens. Already packed up, I carried on my planned trip and thankfully it was back to sunny again when I reached the place. It was even very sunny that I could feel heat washed in with the breeze. I let the garden guide me where to go, which directions to take. And it led me to seeing beautiful living objects and sceneries. I tried to translate what I saw and felt through all my senses.

EYES // VISION

These are the prettiest leaves I have ever seen. Marantaceae family, known as "the prayer plants" has interesting pattern on each leaf surface.

Pretty in Pinks

NOSE // SMELL

If I can describe smell in words just like perfumers list down notes of a scent in a bottle of fragrance, these should satisfy:

earth, green, lush, freshness, wood, moss,+ hints of floral

EARS // SOUND

Listening to birds singing before sunset was truly a thrilling experience of mine

SKIN // TOUCH

Picture taken of the sun before it completely reveal itself to the day. It was hot that for some moment all I felt was the sunlight touching my bare arms.

The texture of "Trees of Stone"

TONGUE // TASTE

I wish this fuzzy looking plant were edible, because then I bet it'd taste like chewy candy with coconut sprinkles on it...

Or this gold plant which would turn anyone to magical creature after eating a bit of it!

But I neither I ate them (of course), nor was I brave enough to taste the plants.
What I did was going to a cafe and order something that might resemble what I wanted to depict from the garden...

Coconut ice cream with lemongrass, cinnamon caramel and whipped liquor and gold leaf on its top!!!

I’m truly grateful to have this experience. To be out and happy, to mingle with the nature, and to be more aware of my surroundings.
